Welcome Parents and Students,

Recently I am sure many of you have heard that we will be losing a few staff members for the upcoming year. Currently we anticipate very little change as we adjust our staff duties to cover these reductions. Our staff has been very willing to take on new responsibilities in order to make sure our school is able to offer the same quality learning experience your child has in the past.

      Mrs. Liz Perrin will be out for a few weeks due to an illness. Rachel Lambert, who is a Certified art teacher, has agreed to fill the position until she returns in a few weeks. We would like to thank our parents along with Mrs. Lambert and Mrs. Kelsey for jumping in to take care of this department so quickly…………Thank you ladies and gentlemen!!

      We would like to invite all third grade parents to the March PTA meeting for updates on iLEAP and a visit from the staff of Abita Middle. This is a wonderful time for our parents to ask the needed questions of their child’s future school. Please join us on March 9th at 6:30.

      Please help us to recognize our bus drivers and cafeteria workers during the week of February 8th. We would like to let our drivers and cafeteria works know how much we appreciate their hard work.

      Because of construction, we are unable to play on the back playground and we are currently using the bus area for recess. Due to this situation, we are asking all parents to avoid entering the back gate during 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thank you for supporting our need to keep this area safe during these hours.

      We have changed our 3rd grade family dates and will reschedule after testing in the spring.

Please check your child’s newsletters for the new dates. February 5th will be Black and Gold/Jean day again in honor of the “Saints”. We will be notifying you more about this day through your child’s class newsletter.
